About Loving Me Kindly
About ME
Hi, I’m Meron! My mission is to share with anyone who is dealing with an autoimmune disease a new perception to tackling health. Diagnosed in 2014 with Graves’ Disease and Hyperthyroidism when I was 26 years old, I want to share how this has been one of the greatest journeys I have been on!
You can overcome your chronic illness if you journey with it and discover what it has come to teach you about yourself
About You
My dear autoimmune champions, hello, and thank you for allowing me to play a small role in your journey. It takes a special kind of strength to live every day with an autoimmune disease. There’s the fatigue, the depression, the everyday things you want to do but are 50x more difficult than others can understand. How great would it be if there was a way to feel a little more like yourself again? Imagine waking up tomorrow and recognizing that healing is taking place within you. Here’s the GOOD news… there something you can you do to put your health back in your hands. How do I know? Because, I have an autoimmune disease and I did it using the same self-care acts I want to show you. all you need is 10 to 15 minutes a day, your favorite drink, and your own digital copy of
Loving Me Kindly, Me Time-Tea Time – Autoimmune wellness journal
My journey from pain to purpose…
One of the most important lessons having an autoimmune condition has taught me is to look after myself. As you will read from my Dear Graves, thank you blogs the message at the core of them is this. I have come to realise that adopting this practice is quite literally the most important act of love any of us can do for ourselves and it is said ‘that we can only love another to the degree to which we love ourselves’. This is not conceited nor selfish but rather empowering, nourishing and one of the greatest relationships we will ever have.
I feel there is so much emphasis on our outward appearance, which is important too, but what about what we wear on the inside? What about our spirit? Our souls? The very essence of who we are? Does this not need constant nourishment and cultivation? The same way we bathe and brush our teeth every day I believe it is just as important to do some internal weeding, not by ripping things out and making ourselves feel worse but by checking in on ourselves like we were our own best friend, giving ourselves guidance, encouragement and mental warm hugs. Having an autoimmune affects every part of your life and can feel like lonely struggle.
After many struggles I found exercise, journaling and sharing my story through my website and Instagram very cathartic. I also began investing in my self-care more. I realised how easy it was to make a difference in my day just by doing one or two things that brought me joy. I learnt that filling my cup was my priority every day and the more
I invested in myself, in my mind, body and soul through carefully taking out the weeds that I had let grow all these years – I was slowly getting my power back and not feeling helpless but hopeful. So I created my digital journals and planners and want to help others feel better too, one simple fun, self-care act at a time.

My Story
Thank you for sharing this journey with me. I am very excited to see where this road leads and all the amazing discoveries we will find about ourselves along the way. I truly believe the trials we encounter in our lives are there to teach us something, we need only lean in and pay attention. Life seldom happens TO us, but FOR us. This concept is something I had been grappling with for the past few years, but looking back, I now see how true this is. Through this website and my blog I will share with you a very honest and open account of a trial in my life that at first I saw as a curse, but now see as a blessing in disguise. Graves’ disease is an autoimmune condition that arises from having a hyperactive thyroid disorder. With most auto-immune conditions, the body’s own defence against disease starts attacking itself resulting in a very weak immune system thus causing a myriad of symptoms, including the following:
-
Enlarged thyroid gland
-
Bulging/uneven eyes
-
Insomnia/night sweats
-
Irritability or nervousness
-
Heat sensitivity, increased sweating
-
Hand tremors
-
Rapid heartbeat (tachycardia)
-
Thinning of skin or fine, brittle hair
-
Frequent bowel movements
-
Weight loss without dieting
-
Fatigue or muscle weakness
-
Lighter menstrual flow and less frequent periods
-
Problems getting pregnant
If left untreated it can be life threatening and can cause serious complications. It has been 4 years of fighting against this disease, that has taken host in my body and affected every aspect of my life. But I have realised recently through various interactions and strange encounters that instead of fighting against it, I am going to journey with it and find the Make Loving ME Kindly the number 1 self-kindness, self-compassion, self-care, self-love movement for anyone dealing with autoimmune disease and chronic health issues. You journey to wellness starts with loving YOU Kindly one small kind act at a time ‘Value in the Valley’. Only by doing this will I find the healing I am looking for. I believe that any illness is a window to our soul. So I am willing to be as open and honest as I can be and see where this journey of healing and self-discovery will lead me.
